As a Breaking News Correspondent, you will be responsible for exercising sharp editorial judgment to vet and quickly alert Reuters readers of breaking news and developments. You will work in a highly competitive, fast-paced and dynamic environment, collaborating with beat reporting teams across the newsroom.

  • Follow major political storylines and demonstrate a command of news developments across the U.S. and Canada

About You

You're a fit for the role of Breaking News Correspondent if your background includes:

  • Three to five years of experience in a reporting or editing role
  • Solid knowledge of the U.S. and Canadian news landscape, with excellent news judgment
  • Ability to write and deliver fully reported stories on deadline, while remaining calm under pressure
  • Enthusiasm to join and work to maintain and improve Reuters' news monitoring operation
  • Excellent communication skills, willingness to accept feedback, and engage with colleagues in a respectful manner
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends
