About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Breaking News Correspondent to join our U.S.-Canada Breaking News Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for covering some of the biggest political and general news stories, including the U.S. presidential election and its aftermath.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exercise sharp editorial judgment to vet and quickly alert Reuters readers of breaking news and developments
  • Work in a highly competitive, fast-paced and dynamic environment, collaborating with beat reporting teams across the newsroom
  • Follow major political storylines and demonstrate a command of news developments across the U.S. and Canada
  • Write news alerts and fast updates on major breaking news stories, while frequently writing spot news stories on a variety of subjects
About You

We're looking for a candidate with a strong background in reporting or editing, with excellent news judgment and the ability to write and deliver fully reported stories on deadline. You should have a solid knowledge of the U.S. and Canadian news landscape and be able to work well under pressure.
