The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the order entry and compounding/dispensing of oral products, intravenous admixtures, Parenteral Nutrition Solutions, chemotherapy, narcotics & controlled drugs, pre-packaging, and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and dispensing of medications, including oral products, intravenous admixtures, and Parenteral Nutrition Solutions.
  • Conduct medication reconciliation on admission, interviewing patients, compiling information, and inputting data into hospital systems.
  • Operate the hospital's pharmacy computerized support programs, including the PAC Med system and Automated Dispensing Units.
  • Perform aseptic compounding and unit dose dispensing of oral solids.
  • Communicate effectively with patient care units, standing, and walking, with periods of lifting.
Requirements
  • Pharmacy Technician (R.Ph.T) license with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Previous hospital experience is considered an asset.
  • Aseptic compounding training/experience is an asset.
  • Unit dose dispensing of oral solids and familiarity with hospital pharmacy computerized support programs.
  • Excellent work performance and attendance record required.
