Job Description

The Pharmacy Professional - Prescription Expert plays a crucial role in the production of prescriptions and provides optimal customer service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving customer prescriptions, gathering necessary information, and ensuring completeness
  • Maintaining patient and drug information files
  • Checking pharmaceutical products prepared by other regulated pharmacy technicians or unregulated pharmacy personnel
  • Confirming accuracy and completeness of pharmaceutical products prepared for release
  • Preparing prescription labels, affixing prescription and auxiliary labels to prescription containers
  • Reconciling accounts and collecting outstanding monies from patients where necessary
  • Retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, mixing, and reconstituting medications
  • Price prescriptions, prepare receipts, invoices, letters, memos, and general filing
  • Stocking medications and related supplies, rotating, and monitoring stock
  • Maintaining a perpetual inventory system in Kroll
  • Maintaining customer privacy and confidentiality

Required Skills and Qualifications

As a Pharmacy Professional - Prescription Expert, you will need:

  • Registered pharmacy technician certification and maintained registration with the appropriate pharmacy association
  • A high level of professionalism
  • Knowledge of professional discipline, technical specialties, and related processes
  • Ability to implement practical procedures of systems that are moderately complex
  • Leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle cash accurately
  • Experience with HEALTHWATCH is an asset
  • Respect for the confidential and individual rights of our customers
  • Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one and over the telephone with coworkers, supervisors, suppliers, physicians, and customers

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
