The Pressure Relief Valve Specialist plays a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of pressure relief devices. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, emphasizing adherence to quality and safety protocols, as well as valve servicing and general maintenance of equipment and facilities. As a Pressure Relief Valve Specialist, you will collaborate with a dedicated team focused on achieving excellence in operational quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the PSV Team Lead or Branch Manager based on branch location.
- Disassemble valves utilizing various tools and techniques.
- Clean valves for thorough inspection using appropriate solvents and tools.
- Inspect internal components, measuring and documenting critical dimensions.
- Input valve information into a computerized tracking system.
- Assemble valves according to OEM specifications with various tools.
- Conduct testing of valves to ensure compliance with codes and specifications.
- Refurbish and label valves to restore them to like-new condition, sealing them in accordance with regulations.
- Travel to different branch locations or operate mobile units as needed.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure all documentation and tags are accurate, verifying against both paperwork and computer records.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Basic proficiency in computer and mathematical skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Exhibit integrity, professionalism, positivity, and enthusiasm.
- Strong comprehension and retention skills for understanding and following technical specifications related to equipment assembly, disassembly, and repair.
- At least 2 years of experience in servicing Safety Relief Valves is preferred.
- Knowledge of Safety Relief Valve repair and testing processes.
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record is required.
- Possession of any of the following certifications: Forklift, Overhead Crane, First Aid, H2S Alive, CSO.
- Ability to lift heavy objects as needed.
- Work will be conducted in both shop and field settings, with potential travel to various locations.
- Availability during peak turnaround periods is essential.
- This is a hands-on role requiring prolonged standing, frequent kneeling, lifting, and bending.
- Exposure to sudden loud noises and harsh cleaning chemicals may occur.
- Steel-toed boots are mandatory.
- Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with overtime and weekend work as necessary.
- Participation in an on-call rotation schedule is required.
- Annual shop shutdowns for holidays will be observed.
- Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as this position is safety-sensitive. Additional drug testing may be required for fieldwork throughout employment.
