The Senior Buyer is a key member of the BRC Group - Tayco and BRC team, responsible for the tactical procurement of commodities, supplies, equipment, and services to support the organization's operations.
Key Responsibilities- Procurement Planning: Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing and terms.
- Inventory Management: Analyze and implement inventory management systems to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
- Cost Reduction: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Communication: Collaborate with Operations, Scheduling, and Production teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Problem-Solving: Develop and implement solutions to resolve procurement-related issues and minimize disruptions.
- Education: Postsecondary education in material management or business, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a buyer, with a proven track record of success in procurement and inventory management.
- Skills: Proficient computer skills, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The working conditions described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Salary: $65,000 to $80,000 annually.
- Travel: Some travel may be required.
- Work Environment: Work on site at the plant as many days as required.
- Overtime: Overtime as required.
