Indigenous Student Services Coordinator

Join Okanagan College in a dynamic role that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of Indigenous students. As an Indigenous Student Services Coordinator, you will play a vital part in ensuring the success and well-being of our Indigenous students.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide academic advising and support to Indigenous students, helping them navigate their educational journey and achieve their goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and service providers to promote Okanagan College and its programs.
- Plan and coordinate culturally relevant events and activities that foster a sense of community and belonging among Indigenous students.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to create a welcoming and inclusive campus environment.
- Provide referrals and support to Indigenous students who require additional services, such as counseling, academic support, or financial aid.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Indigenous studies, social work, or education.
- Minimum 4 years of experience working with Indigenous learners, communities, and/or organizations.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, customs, and history, as well as post-secondary institutions and their services.
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on student success and well-being.
- A competitive salary range of $63,827 - $72,927.
