Lead Procurement Specialist

About the Role at Atlas Graham Furgale
We are currently in search of a Senior Purchaser to enhance our procurement team.
Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the Senior Purchaser is responsible for overseeing the planning and purchasing processes. This role will support the Director in product development and vendor negotiations, playing a crucial part in fostering robust vendor relationships. The Senior Purchaser will also engage in effective negotiations with suppliers regarding product pricing, delivery timelines, and quality standards. Proficiency in executing procurement strategies, pricing frameworks, and inventory management is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:- Acquire finished products, raw materials, and components from authorized suppliers for Atlas Graham Furgale.
- Identify and assess potential new vendors as necessary.
- Manage the procurement of designated maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) items.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure operational efficiency.
- Guide suppliers and manage the release of materials to support continuous production.
- Secure the necessary USMCA Certificates from suppliers annually to maintain duty rates.
- Collaborate with production, customer service, scheduling, and receiving teams to prevent shortages or delays in shipments.
- Accelerate the procurement of essential materials to sustain ongoing production.
- Analyze vendor costs, lead times, and delivery performance metrics.
- Process Spot Buy and Blanket Purchase orders in accordance with established procedures.
- Provide timely and accurate information to vendors, the Director of Procurement, and senior management.
- Engage in negotiations regarding payment terms, rebates, and lead times with suppliers.
- Compile and present weekly, monthly, and annual reports for senior management review.
- Ensure compliance with all Logistics Purchasing Procedures.
- Assist in building relationships with freight carriers to secure competitive rates for inbound logistics.
- Coordinate with vendors and couriers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Establish and monitor KPIs and metrics to evaluate vendor performance, cost savings, and freight expenditures.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Over 6 years of experience in supply chain management with a demonstrated history of achieving performance targets.
- Experience in managing global supply chain operations.
- Solid understanding of duties, brokerage, and logistics.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and provide excellent customer service.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with sound judgment.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in various environments, whether calm or fast-paced.
- Outstanding organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and driven to succeed.
- Preferred knowledge of the industry.
- Effective time management skills, capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
- Demonstrates trustworthiness, integrity, and flexibility.
- Must handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in various computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
