Job Summary:

GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as an Environmental Services Technician. This role will be responsible for operating a variety of fleet, including hydro vacuum, dry vacuum, and liquid vacuum trucks, to support our liquid waste facility in Sudbury.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of tools and equipment, as well as the industrial services shop.
  • Perform power washing and high-pressure water blasting as required.
  • Conduct line snaking, drain, and pipe inspections as needed.
  • Operate industrial cleaning equipment for chemical non-hazardous and hazardous wastes.
  • Assist with vacuum truck and plant operations as required.
  • Participate in confined space entry and rescue operations for industrial services projects.
  • Work in tight or cramped spaces.
  • Operate aerial boom lifts and scissor lifts as required.

Requirements:

  • Class G license required for labourers.
  • AZ/DZ license required for drivers.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (80% labour, 20% driving).
  • Must be clean-shaven for fit testing and respirator use.
  • Previous experience in industrial settings is an asset.
  • Experience with vacuum trucks, industrial power-washing, or water-blasting, or liquid waste industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with confined space entry or work at heights is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends or holidays.
