Role Overview:
Are you interested in developing innovative solutions (Cloud, AI, Blockchain) and making a significant impact within a rapidly expanding Canadian start-up? The Senior Project Coordinator is tasked with managing and supervising a portfolio of projects for one or multiple clients. This role involves initiating projects, securing necessary resources, establishing timelines, assigning tasks, and effectively communicating project progress and status to stakeholders and management. The Coordinator should be well-versed in various project management methodologies and leverage their expertise to meet objectives. Additional responsibilities include reviewing business processes or documentation related to business requirements, analyzing cost benefits, interpreting regulatory guidelines, and evaluating contracts with suppliers or clients. A strategic understanding of customer needs across all business lines is essential, as is collaboration with all delivery team members (product owners, architects, developers, etc.) to ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all stakeholders have a unified understanding and agreement on project scope, timelines, responsibilities, risks, dependencies, quality, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Develop comprehensive project documentation, including charters, plans, schedules, and updates.
- Continuously monitor and communicate project status to stakeholders.
- Oversee project issue and risk management, identifying potential risks and issues through active engagement with team members and stakeholders, and implementing a risk management strategy.
- Lead the project change control process.
- Manage project financials, including costs and revenue.
- Oversee a collection of projects (portfolio/program management).
- Act as a Scrum Master for Agile projects when necessary, ensuring all obstacles faced by the sprint team are addressed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication skills. Bilingual proficiency (English and French) is mandatory.
- Ability to comprehend complex information and articulate it in straightforward business terms for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience presenting to larger audiences, maintaining engagement, and facilitating discussions.
- Ability to convey messages succinctly and effectively in both positive and challenging situations.
- Proficient in producing high-quality documentation.
Over 7 years of experience in project management, including:
- Managing small to large-scale projects (teams exceeding 30 members and annual budgets of $1 million).
- Experience in product development and infrastructure migration projects (data center to cloud).
- Familiarity with various SDLC methodologies: Agile/Scrum, KANBAN, interactive, and waterfall.
- Experience with fixed-price and time-and-material contracts.
- Preferred experience in AI and Blockchain projects.
A self-driven, organized, and motivated individual with strong leadership capabilities. Proven experience in engaging with senior executives and managing expectations. Ability to align project strategy with organizational goals to ensure value creation. Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
