Your Opportunity:
This role is eligible for a remote hybrid arrangement following an initial orientation period.

Under the supervision of the Manager, VODP, and with guidance from the Clinical Supervisor, the Mental Health Therapist (MHT) will deliver harm reduction-oriented mental health and addiction services to clients throughout the province.

As an MHT, you will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally sensitive assessments, treatment, case management, crisis intervention, education, and referral services tailored for individuals and families affected by opioid dependency.

Your responsibilities will include adhering to regulatory protocols concerning Suboxone and Methadone, monitoring prescription modifications, facilitating dosage adjustments, overseeing urine drug screening results, ensuring the VODP physician is informed of patient conditions, and supporting the overall physical and emotional well-being of clients dealing with addiction.

In partnership with pharmacies, laboratories, emergency departments, physicians, and existing addiction and mental health services, you will engage in collaborative decision-making with team members and external stakeholders to identify solutions and resources for individuals facing opioid dependency.

This position is set to transition to Recovery Alberta in the near future. Successful candidates will be integrated into Recovery Alberta.


Description:


As the Mental Health Therapist, you will utilize a range of therapeutic modalities (individual, family, and group) to assist individuals experiencing significant mental health challenges.

Working autonomously and as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will implement evidence-based practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment.

Minimum Salary: $41.12

Maximum Salary: $54.61

Required Qualifications:


A Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work (clinical specialization), Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or Psychiatric Nursing, with training in mental health assessment and psychotherapy.

Active or eligible for registration with the relevant Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:


A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered. Social Workers must be authorized by ACSW to provide psychosocial interventions.

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience delivering frontline Addiction and Mental Health services in various healthcare environments (e.g., urgent, acute, community).

Strong knowledge of the addiction and mental health system across the province and the ability to identify resources beneficial for clients based on clinical judgment.

Advanced skills in assessment and intervention for individuals of all ages with addiction and mental health issues, including crisis intervention capabilities.

As a proactive and supportive team member, you possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.

You are a self-motivated individual with outstanding leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, capable of managing change in a fast-paced environment.

Strong understanding of mental health and substance use issues is essential. Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, are required. Experience in an Opioid Agonist Treatment Program is preferred.
