Job Title: Youth Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Worker to join our team at Shkoday Abinojiiwak Obimiwedoon. As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and development of Aboriginal youth in our community.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to Aboriginal youth, aged 12-24, in a variety of settings, including schools, community centers, and one-on-one sessions. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement programs and services that promote the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our youth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group support to Aboriginal youth, including counseling, mentoring, and advocacy.
  • Develop and implement programs and services that promote the well-being and development of Aboriginal youth.
  • Work closely with community partners to identify and address the needs of Aboriginal youth.
  • Provide support and guidance to parents and caregivers to help them navigate the system and access resources.
  • Participate in community events and activities to promote the work of Shkoday Abinojiiwak Obimiwedoon and engage with the community.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as social work, counseling, or education.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal youth and communities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
