Role Purpose

The Payments Officer in Money Transfer Operations is responsible for ensuring that business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed in alignment with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a customer-centric culture within the team to strengthen client relationships and leverage broader Bank resources and knowledge.
  • Ensure timely and accurate verification of wire payment instructions in accordance with established procedures, whether received electronically or manually. Possess in-depth knowledge of wire payment formatting to swiftly identify and rectify errors.
  • Actively engage in process enhancements and quality control initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Efficiently manage daily workflows, contributing to all queues to expedite payment execution.
  • Clarify inconsistencies or address operator errors while participating in the establishment of best practices to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Understand the Bank's risk appetite and culture, integrating these considerations into daily activities and decision-making.
  • Promote an environment that prioritizes effective and efficient operations, ensuring compliance with operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.
  • Develop a high-performance team by implementing a strategy that attracts, retains, and motivates talent, fostering an inclusive work environment, and employing a coaching approach.
Qualifications
  • Proficient understanding of the bank's operational and administrative processes to resolve daily challenges efficiently.
  • Knowledge of payment systems, particularly regarding the regulations governing international and domestic wire transfers.
  • Strong communication skills, both clear and concise.
