Job Description

Celestica Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Test Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated test equipment and test programs for product testing and design verification.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with experience in Linux OS (Ubuntu, CentOS, Redhat) and a minimum of one programming language (Python preferred). Additionally, they will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in engineering development and manufacturing operations support, with a strong operations background in electronics manufacturing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing and developing test solutions, including hardware and software elements, and system integration, qualification, and installation.
  • Debugging tester issues using design of experiments, tools, and failure analysis methodologies.
  • Stabilizing test solutions for manufacturing, working to optimize with process teams to focus on cycle time and yield.
  • Collaborating with product design teams to provide feedback on product testability, test coverage, diagnosability, reparability, firmware/diagnostics, and user experience.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science or Engineering in Computer, Electrical, Software, or Computer Science.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of software development experience on Linux OS (Ubuntu, CentOS, Redhat) with minimum one language (Python preferred).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of engineering development and manufacturing operations support (preferred, not mandatory).
  • Strong operations background (electronics manufacturing experience preferred, not mandatory).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Development experience with National Instruments LabView.
  • Development experience with National Instruments TestStand.
  • Board design and layout experience.

Working Conditions:

The duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
