Position Overview

Join our team at Commercial Spring and Tool Company Limited as a Metal Fabrication Machine Operator. This is a permanent role that offers a dynamic work environment where precision and skill are paramount.

Work Details
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a related field or equivalent experience
Work Environment
  • Hot and noisy conditions
Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect products to ensure they meet specified shapes, dimensions, and other criteria.
  • Maintain machinery and equipment through cleaning and lubrication.
  • Shape and form metal stock into parts or products using various techniques such as cutting, bending, rolling, and welding.
  • Document completed work accurately.
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor issues to perform repairs.
  • Set up and operate multiple metalworking machines.
  • Utilize machines for welding, soldering, and fastening metal components.
  • Operate forging machines for hot or cold metal shaping.
  • Interpret specifications and follow verbal instructions effectively.
  • Transport materials to the work area using manual methods or equipment.
Equipment Proficiency
  • Experience with lifting devices and overhead cranes.
  • Proficient in operating power and punch presses.
  • Skilled in using CNC machines and hand tools.
Metal Forming Expertise
  • Knowledge in punching and upsetting operations.
Safety and Security
  • Must pass a criminal record check.
Transportation and Travel
  • Own transportation is required; public transportation options are available.
Physical Requirements
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Capable of handling heavy loads and performing physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work under pressure.
Weight Handling
  • Must be able to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
Personal Equipment
  • Required: Ear plugs, mask, safety glasses/goggles, steel-toed safety boots, and tools.
