About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Clipper Ship Supply Inc. as a key member of our purchasing department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing and Procurement
    • Source and procure general and specialized equipment, materials, and business services from suppliers.
    • Develop detailed specifications for equipment, materials, and supplies to be purchased.
    • Negotiate offers from suppliers and ensure competitive pricing.
  • Contract Management
    • Determine contract terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
    • Monitor progress of delivery schedules and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Logistics and Operations
    • Plan, organize, and oversee the operational logistics of the organization, ensuring efficient use of resources.
    • Internal audit and quality control processes to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
    • Effective communication and negotiation skills to resolve conflicts and issues.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • 5 years or more of experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related field.
    • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Knowledge of accounting software, including Sage Accounting Software.
    • Specialized environmental skills and knowledge.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
