Position Overview
MacEwan University is renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional nursing education, equipping graduates with the skills necessary for success in diverse nursing roles. The Faculty of Nursing comprises five distinct departments, each contributing to various academic programs including the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing, and the Psychiatric Nursing Diploma.
The Department of Human Health and Science is seeking candidates for a full-time tenure-track role at the Assistant Professor level. This position is pivotal in advancing the educational mission of the department, focusing on the integration of scientific principles within nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality instruction in Psychiatric Nursing courses.
- Engaging in curriculum development and enhancement to meet educational standards.
- Participating in clinical teaching across various settings, which may include travel.
- Contributing to the department's research initiatives and scholarly activities.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A baccalaureate degree in Psychiatric Nursing.
- A graduate degree in Psychiatric Nursing or a related discipline; doctoral qualifications are preferred.
- Significant experience in Psychiatric Nursing education and licensure.
- A demonstrated record of undergraduate teaching and expertise in a specialized area of mental health.
- A developing or established research program relevant to the field.
