Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Casual Educational Assistant to join our team at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. As a key member of our school community, you will provide essential support to students with exceptional needs, promoting their academic and personal growth.

Responsibilities
  • Support students with autism spectrum disorders, behaviour management programs, and developmental delays
  • Participate in pool programs, academic support, and implementing special programs
  • Assist students who are deaf/hard of hearing or visually impaired, and provide physiotherapy exercises and stretches
  • Modify programs and support learning for students with learning disabilities and speech/language issues
  • Perform outside yard duties, lifting, toileting, and/or pool duties as required
Requirements
  • Community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care/Worker, or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-2 years of related experience with school-aged special needs children
  • American Sign Language Level 3 certification
  • Valid First Aid certification/CPR Level C
  • Behaviour Modification training and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and/or TCI certification
