Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrogeologist to join our team at Parsons Corporation. As a key member of our Critical Infrastructure team, you will play a crucial role in supporting environmental project work related to site assessment, risk assessment/management, and remediation of contaminated sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support contaminated site projects in Western and Northern Canada, working closely with our team to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Alberta regulatory frameworks, with experience in other regulatory frameworks (CCME, SK, MB, BC, NWT) being an asset.
  • Utilize GIS and database tools to support project work, ensuring accurate and efficient data management.
  • Provide regulatory communication and mentoring/supervision of junior staff, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to identify and implement effective remedial technologies and options, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in a scientific discipline, such as geology, environmental science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of related work experience, with direct/specialized experience in one or more of the disciplines listed being an asset.
  • Proficiency in various software applications, including GIS and database tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eligibility for registration in, or maintaining a good standing in, a professional organization, such as the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in a related field.
  • 10+ years of related experience, with a strong track record of success in environmental project management.
  • Registered Professional Geologist or Engineer, with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and industry best practices.
