Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equipment Operator - Sidewalk Plow Operator to join our team at Webber Infrastructure Management Canada Limited. As a key member of our winter maintenance team, you will be responsible for operating sidewalk plows to ensure safe and efficient snow removal and ice control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain sidewalk plow equipment to remove snow and ice from pedestrian pathways, sidewalks, and other designated areas.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Ensure thorough removal of snow and ice to create safe walking conditions, applying salt or sand as necessary to improve traction.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely snow removal, adjusting plans as necessary based on weather conditions and priority areas.
  • Collaborate with team supervisor and other team members to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist with de-icing and salting operations as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Report progress and any obstacles encountered to the supervisor.
  • Be available for emergency response rotations as needed for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years related work experience in construction, road maintenance, commercial/industrial repair, maintenance, or landscaping (outdoor work).
  • Experience operating sidewalk plows is an asset.
  • Knowledge of snow removal techniques and equipment maintenance is an asset.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be required to work in an outdoor environment with exposure to extreme temperatures, wind, and precipitation. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and use manual and powered tools and equipment is required.
