Clinical Nurse - Recovery Unit
As a Clinical Nurse, you will employ a patient- and family-focused methodology in delivering comprehensive, high-quality, and secure care to individuals within the professional boundaries established by the College of Nurses of Ontario, utilizing evidence-based nursing practices and adhering to the standards set forth by Mackenzie Health. You will work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary care team, contributing to the creation of an exceptional health experience for patients and their families. This will be achieved by demonstrating professionalism consistently, upholding our core values of excellence, leadership, and compassion, and embodying our Commitment to Caring.

Essential Qualifications:
- Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Critical care or Emergency care certification or equivalent educational background.
Additional Skills and Experience:
- Experience in PACU, ICU, or Emergency settings is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in inpatient surgery, recovery room, ICU, or Emergency care.
- Exceptional patient assessment and care planning abilities.
- Proven skills in patient education and training.
- Proficiency in computer systems, including experience with electronic medical records.
- Familiarity with the Regulated Health Professions Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, and the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Outstanding interpersonal, listening, and verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively convey information and collaborate with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated strong decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
- Ability to take initiative and adapt to new or unforeseen circumstances.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Day Surgery nursing.
- Completion of a Post Anesthetic Care Unit (PACU) course.
- Completion of a Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
- Recent completion of a physical assessment course.
- Membership in the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) or Canadian Nurses Association (CNA).
- Ability to communicate in a second language.
