We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Specialist to join our team at IPEX, a leading manufacturer of advanced plastic piping systems. As a key member of our production team, you will play a critical role in transforming raw materials into high-quality gaskets that meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure mold temperature is set correctly before splicing rubber strips.
  • Prepare rubber strips for splicing by dipping, sanding, heating, and cleaning strip ends.
  • Verify rubber strips for straight cuts and clean ends before splicing.
  • Load tape rolls into tape machines and inspect quality.
  • Load gaskets into presses and insert splicing tape between gasket ends (as required).
  • Close molds and remove gaskets after curing.
  • Inspect gaskets for cracks, nibs, lumps, pinholes, and other defects.
  • Inject silicone into gaskets and break splice seals using pneumatic anvils.
  • Pack finished gaskets and verify proper quantities in each box.
  • Document and record all required information.

Working Conditions:

As a Fabrication Specialist, you will spend almost 100% of your time in the plant environment, performing light physical labor. You will be exposed to heat and use light press equipment. You must understand, respect, and adhere to workplace health and safety rules and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Safety-conscious and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Basic English language skills (read, write, and speak).
  • Ability to use or be trained on various measuring tools related to our gasket manufacturing process.

Benefits:

  • Hourly rate: $ + shift premium of 5% of the employee's regular rate for each hour worked on this shift.
