Role Overview:

In this pivotal role, you will spearhead all sales initiatives for our innovative energy storage division, focusing on delivering comprehensive solutions throughout North America.

Your target audience will include small to medium-sized commercial and industrial clients, as well as community solar projects, all of whom can benefit from our efficient and compact energy solutions designed to lower demand charges, optimize energy usage, and ensure reliable backup power.

This newly established position offers a unique chance to shape our initial market entry strategy and business framework, implement a robust internal and external program to cultivate a sustainable customer base, drive revenue growth, and reinforce CSI Solar Co.'s reputation as a leading energy storage provider.

You will collaborate closely with the executive leadership team and report directly to the General Manager of North America.

We are seeking a visionary leader capable of guiding, inspiring, and developing a talented team while also excelling in strategic sales and business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic sales leadership for the Energy Storage division within the commercial and industrial sectors, aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee all facets of business planning, team recruitment and development, operational management, and key account oversight.
  • Drive sales and strategically target key markets and clients, leveraging existing industry connections.
  • Engage with customers and collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve business growth targets.
  • Lead contract negotiations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements throughout the contract administration process.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying new opportunities within targeted markets.
  • Partner with the contract negotiation team to facilitate successful agreements.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing strategies and communications to enhance brand and solution visibility.
  • Execute business plans with a focus on establishing and nurturing high-level business relationships.
  • Create compelling presentations for customer proposals to secure business and meet corporate objectives.
  • Collaborate with field marketing and sales teams to manage product launch initiatives.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and key influencers affecting investment decisions.
  • Regularly analyze market data and customer needs for current and future products and solutions.
  • Coordinate with executive management to ensure business targets are clearly defined and achieved.
  • Travel frequently to engage with customers and participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and marketing events.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in project development, sales, business development, and key account management.
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in selling to and/or engaging with the targeted market.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex contractual negotiations with multiple stakeholders and identifying key decision-makers.
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is advantageous.
  • Track record of achieving significant sales goals or project development milestones.
  • Exceptional sales skills, including knowledge of the sales process, ability to devise and implement effective sales strategies, present comprehensive proposals, negotiate complex contracts, and close high-value projects.
