Job Summary:

The Commercial Sales Development Representative will play a critical role in driving sales growth and profitability for Mercury Insurance. This position will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with agency partners, increasing sales, and providing training and support to ensure agents are equipped to meet their business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth and profitability in assigned territories.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners, providing training and support to ensure they have the necessary tools and resources to succeed.
  • Conduct regular sales visits to agencies, providing guidance and support to help them meet their business objectives.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to pursue them.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide a positive customer experience and drive sales growth.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Develop and implement segmentation strategies to maximize visibility and drive sales growth.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities to agency partners to help them improve their sales skills and business performance.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in outside sales and marketing, preferably in the property and casualty insurance industry.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on results and customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a sales development role, with a focus on driving growth and profitability.
  • Knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry, including products, services, and market trends.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and reports, with a focus on identifying areas for growth and improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop agency partners to achieve their business goals.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to travel by automobile 90% of the time for on-site visits to agencies.
  • Must be able to travel by airline 10% of the time for company meetings or events.
