Pharmacy Technician Role
Permanent Full-Time Opportunity
Reporting to the Pharmacy Services Manager, the registered Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in executing technical responsibilities associated with medication distribution within the healthcare facility.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Efficiently managing medication distribution to patient care units, utilizing advanced automated dispensing systems and central pharmacy technology.
• Conducting comprehensive medication histories with patients to support medication reconciliation processes.
• Preparing unit dose and compounded medications in compliance with NAPRA standards.
• Addressing patient and staff inquiries appropriately.
• Handling the issuance and delivery of narcotics and controlled substances to designated care areas.
• Overseeing the medication inventory control system and maintaining accurate records in accordance with pharmacy regulations and established protocols.
• Assisting Clinical Pharmacists as needed.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Valid registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician diploma from an accredited institution (or an equivalent combination of education and experience if licensed through the OCP bridging program).
