Mechanical Assembly Technician

Job Overview:
As a Mechanical Assembly Technician at NOV Inc, you will collaborate with a designated project Lead Hand and/or Supervisor as part of a dedicated assembly team. Your primary responsibilities will encompass the assembly, testing, and maintenance of various products. Team members will engage in assembly tasks and assist in refining new and existing product materials, methodologies, and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage in the safe assembly, construction, repair, and/or testing of diverse mobile oilfield service equipment utilizing both standard and specialized tools, ensuring adherence to quality standards and correct procedures. Interpret assembly specifications, including charts, schematics, blueprints, and detailed instructions. Report technical challenges encountered to the Lead Hand for resolution throughout the project lifecycle. Operate rigging equipment, forklifts, and other machinery as required. Assemble mechanical components with precision. Participate in regular organization and cleanliness initiatives within the shop/yard. Provide training to new employees on assembly operations as necessary. Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed. Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively on complex projects requiring sound judgment to resolve issues. Familiarize yourself with operational controls, including safe working practices and job hazard analysis pertinent to specific tasks. Adhere to all relevant company policies, guiding principles, procedures, and programs, including health, safety, and environmental regulations. Assist with shop maintenance tasks as needed. Supply your own tools; a recommended list is available. The company offers some atypical tools for temporary use, available through the tool crib service. High School Diploma or GED is required. Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical and/or hydraulic assembly, troubleshooting, and repair; experience in diesel mechanics; pump and/or valve assembly, disassembly, or repair; and/or oilfield maintenance and repair experience. Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse workforce across various departments.Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Considerations:
Work will occur in a shop environment, warehouse, and both indoor and outdoor settings. Exposure to dust, fumes, gases, and varying temperature/humidity is possible. Physical requirements may include squatting, bending, lifting up to 60 lbs, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, reaching, twisting, crawling, climbing, ladder work, and working near moving equipment. First Aid, forklift, and overhead crane training are advantageous for this position. Required personal protective equipment includes steel toe boots, safety glasses or side shields, hard hats, and ear protection. Additional equipment such as face shields and/or ventilation masks may be necessary for specific tasks.Equal Opportunity Commitment:
