Job Overview:
As a Mechanical Assembly Technician at NOV Inc, you will collaborate with a dedicated assembly team under the guidance of a project Lead Hand and/or Supervisor. Your primary focus will be on the assembly, testing, and maintenance of various products, ensuring that quality standards are met throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage in the safe assembly, construction, repair, and testing of a diverse range of mobile oilfield service equipment utilizing both standard and specialized tools and procedures, applying sound judgment to ensure the use of correct components and methods. Interpret assembly specifications, including charts, schematics, blueprints, and detailed instructions. Report any technical challenges encountered to the Lead Hand for prompt resolution during the project lifecycle. Operate rigging equipment, forklifts, and other machinery as required. Assemble mechanical parts and components efficiently. Participate in regular maintenance of shop organization and cleanliness. Provide training to new team members on assembly processes as necessary. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to assembly tasks. Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively on complex projects, utilizing critical thinking to address challenges. Familiarize yourself with operational controls, including safe working practices and job hazard analysis relevant to specific tasks. Adhere to all applicable company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including health, safety, and environmental standards. Assist with shop maintenance tasks as needed. Supply your own tools; a recommended list is available, and the company provides some atypical tools for temporary use through the tool crib service. High School Diploma or GED is required. Proven aptitude in mechanical and/or hydraulic assembly, troubleshooting, and repair; experience in diesel mechanics; and familiarity with pump and/or valve assembly, disassembly, or repair is essential. Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse workforce across various departments.Health, Safety, and Environmental Requirements:
Work environment includes shop, warehouse, and both indoor and outdoor settings. Exposure to dust, fumes, gases, and varying temperature and humidity levels may occur. Physical requirements may include squatting, bending, lifting up to 60 lbs, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, reaching, twisting, crawling, climbing, ladder work, and working near moving equipment. First Aid, forklift, and overhead crane training are advantageous for this position. Required personal protective equipment includes steel toe boots, safety glasses or side shields, hard hats, and ear protection. Additional protective gear such as face shields and ventilation masks may be necessary depending on tasks.Application Information:
