About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at RhynoCare. As a Nurse Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents in a supportive and compassionate environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Excellent Patient Care: Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
  • Ensure Timely Admissions: Ensure a timely and accessible admission for the residents including a comprehensive orientation to the home and the services offered within the home.
  • Manage Resident Transfers: Ensure that resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
  • Control and Safeguard Medications: Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
  • Assess, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of the residents.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
  • Registration and Certification: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses and current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Computer Proficiency: Basic computer proficiency.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Deals with others in an effective, compassionate, and supportive manner.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada), Coroners Act, College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statues which influence the operation of the Nursing Home and more specifically the nursing department.
  • Clearance and Checks: Medical Clearance (including but not limited to TB tests), Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Clear Criminal Record check.
  • Health and Safety: All staff are required to provide proof of vaccination, adhere to COVID-19 prevention protocols, and wear a mask at all times.
