Are you ready to take on a challenging role in data analysis? The Data Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting various project teams within the Historic Waste Program. This position involves providing expertise in data analysis, aggregation, and reporting to effectively manage substantial data volumes sourced from contractors. The insights generated are vital for project planning and stakeholder communication, making precision and attention to detail paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging in the development of processes for analyzing project data to fulfill all relevant project requirements while ensuring high standards of data integrity and quality for reporting and mapping.
  • Collaborating with diverse teams to ascertain data needs and produce thorough documentation, including data mapping and workflows for data shared with external entities.
  • Assisting teams in data validation efforts to guarantee the accuracy and dependability of project data.
  • Conducting quality assessments to maintain data quality, consistency, and accuracy, while addressing any issues with project teams and contractors.
  • Overseeing data freshness and creating reports or visualizations as requested by project teams and stakeholders.
  • Supporting project teams by confirming that report parameters are precise and beneficial for decision-making.
  • Performing quality assurance on reports to ensure accurate data processing.
  • Presenting findings to stakeholders and teams in a professional manner, clearly explaining data processes and system capabilities.
  • Proposing enhancements for reporting.

Qualifications:
  • Education:
    A Bachelor's degree in computer science, commerce, statistics, science, or related fields that involve data management and analysis.
  • Experience:
    • Over five years in a data analyst capacity.
    • More than three years of experience supporting project teams.
    • Proficient in dashboard reporting and data visualization.
    • Extensive experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams, along with familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS Online and/or Portal.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to foster positive working relationships across all organizational levels.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating a collaborative team spirit.
    • Effective written communication for documentation purposes.
    • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet various deadlines.
    • Flexibility to adapt work schedules to accommodate project demands and urgent requests.
    • A quick learner, adaptable to changes in processes, systems, or technologies.
    • A detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical thinking capabilities.
    • Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities for data management and knowledgeable in database design principles and SQL.
    • Experienced in managing, manipulating, and presenting extensive datasets.
    • Well-versed in data quality processes, validation, and aggregation.
  • Security Clearance:
    Eligibility for Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), requiring a minimum of three years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, or the United Kingdom.
