Position Overview:
The Compensation and Classification Analyst plays a pivotal role in the formulation, execution, and management of the institution's compensation frameworks. This role collaborates closely with various stakeholders, including HR Services and departmental partners, to facilitate the administration of salary structures, job assessments, performance evaluation, and organizational restructuring initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on compensation-related issues, ensuring adherence to established policies and collective agreements.
- Act as a subject matter expert, offering insights that span multiple HR functions, including labor relations, recruitment, and organizational development.
- Participate in leadership teams and contribute to special projects and initiatives that enhance the College's operational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business, or a related discipline.
- Professional designations such as Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) are advantageous.
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in compensation, classification, or job evaluation, preferably within public sector or large, multi-union environments.
- Proficient in point factor job evaluation systems and familiar with relevant legislation and compensation practices.
Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and reach consensus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on critical thinking.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously while contributing effectively as part of a team.
