Position Overview:
The Anatomical Pathology Assistant II plays a crucial role in the laboratory setting, contributing to the preparation and examination of surgical specimens in accordance with established protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dissect surgical specimens in alignment with standard operating procedures.
- Review clinical histories, laboratory results, and imaging studies for comprehensive analysis.
- Conduct post-mortem examinations and facilitate the preparation of tissues for histological evaluation.
- Ensure meticulous record-keeping and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Support the orientation and training of new staff members.
- Engage in safety initiatives and quality assurance programs.
Required Qualifications:
- Certification from the Canadian Certification Council of Pathologists' Assistants.
- Graduate of a Master's Pathologist Assistant Program with experience in surgical and autopsy pathology.
Desirable Skills:
- Strong communication skills and ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with data analysis and laboratory information management systems.
- Physical ability to fulfill job responsibilities.
