Position Overview:

Material Handler

This position entails the responsibility of ensuring that all essential production materials are supplied to the manufacturing process, while also providing assistance to the Production Supervisor as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport materials, components, and packaging to meet production demands, as well as auxiliary equipment to the designated work area.
  • Prepare packaging materials as necessary for the manufacturing process.
  • Remove materials and packaging once production runs are completed.
  • Clearly identify all job-specific items.
  • Ensure the forklift is maintained in optimal mechanical condition for safe operation, including the completion of daily checklists.
  • Maintain timely delivery and organized storage of packaging and components.
  • Provide additional support to colleagues when time permits or as requested by the Production Supervisor.
  • Keep track of skid counts as required.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork at all times.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Comply with Quality and Business Operating Systems, as well as all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Complete any other assigned duties.
  • Adhere to the Company Value Statement and the Standard Code of Conduct.

Minimum Education/Qualifications:

  • A secondary school diploma or equivalent is required, with preference given to candidates who have completed some or all of a college-level program.

Minimum Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 1-5 years of experience in materials handling is required, with preference for those with experience in plastic injection molding and/or assembly within an automotive manufacturing context.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Capability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
