Position Overview

The Building Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of facilities. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintaining a safe and functional environment.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage waste disposal by emptying trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Perform adjustments and minor repairs on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems; coordinate with tradespersons for significant repairs.
  • Conduct minor appliance repairs as needed.
  • Assist in moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks, including painting and drywall repair.
  • Care for plants, lawns, and gardens through regular watering and maintenance.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of bathrooms and fixtures.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas during winter months.
  • Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies.

Work Environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage repetitive tasks.
  • Capable of handling heavy loads and performing physically demanding tasks.

Must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Work Conditions
