Senior Manager, Cybersecurity and Risk

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager, Cyber to lead our IT and Cyber Risk Management program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to mitigate IT and Cyber risks, ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the IT and Cyber Risk Management Team: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the team, ensuring effective risk management and mitigation.
- Develop and Implement Risk Management Strategies: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and prioritize IT and Cyber risks, developing and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Manage Risk Metrics and Reporting: Develop and maintain risk metrics and reporting, providing insights and recommendations to senior management and the Board.
- Lead Third-Party Risk Management: Oversee the review and assessment of third-party vendors, ensuring they meet our IT and Cyber risk management standards.
- Develop and Maintain Policies and Procedures: Collaborate with the legal and compliance teams to develop and maintain policies and procedures related to IT and Cyber risk management.
- Lead Audits and Compliance: Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- 10+ years of experience in IT Internal Audit, Risk Management, and/or Compliance in a financial institution.
- 5+ years of hands-on IT or security operations experience.
- Knowledge and experience working with data, cybersecurity, information security, compliance, and privacy laws in the Canadian financial industry.
- Experience writing or updating IT and Security governance documents, policies, and standards.
- Experience building key performance and risk indicator dashboards for different management levels.
- Knowledge of industry best practices (COBIT, ITIL, NIST CSF, Cloud CSC, Agile SAFE, PCI-DSS, etc.).
- Exposure to enterprise and operational risk principles and practices.
- Expertise in budget planning, financial management, and workforce management.
- Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions, and strategic application to business needs.
- Ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and information management across the IT organization and wider enterprise.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms.
