Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a secondary school graduation certificate and have 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in carpentry.

Work Environment
  • Work may involve heights, confined spaces, and exposure to noisy and dusty conditions.
  • Work settings include residential and construction sites.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare labor and material cost estimates.
  • Interpret blueprints and sketches to assess project requirements.
  • Ensure layouts comply with building codes using precise measuring tools.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials including wood and lightweight steel.
  • Construct foundations, install floor beams, and erect walls and roofing systems.
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, and hardware.
  • Coordinate and schedule work on-site.
  • Supervise and instruct apprentices and other workers.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate wooden structures across various facilities.
Supervision

Responsible for overseeing 1 to 2 workers.

Certifications
  • Completion of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training.
  • Training for working at heights.
Equipment Experience

Familiarity with hand tools is essential.

Transportation

Public transportation options are available for commuting.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel.
  • Capable of a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Must handle heavy loads and meet tight deadlines.
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision.
Tools and Safety Gear
  • Must provide own tools and safety equipment, including steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and vests.
