Woodworking Specialist

At RENO CONSTRUCTIONS, we are seeking a skilled Woodworking Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, reading blueprints, and preparing layouts in conformance to building codes. You will also be tasked with measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. Additionally, you will build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems. If you have a strong background in carpentry and are looking for a challenging and rewarding role, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities
- Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
