Role Overview:

The Senior Manager/Director of Sustainability & Compliance is responsible for guiding our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, managing sustainability disclosures, ensuring adherence to regulations, and offering strategic direction. This role is pivotal in promoting sustainable practices and aiding the organization in reaching its sustainability objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage the organization’s sustainability initiatives, ensuring they align with industry benchmarks and best practices.
  • Oversee and maintain certifications such as B Corp, OEKO-TEX, ISO, and Blue Sign, ensuring compliance and ongoing enhancement.
  • Formulate and execute sustainability reporting strategies, including lifecycle assessments and carbon footprint reporting.
  • Manage the development and implementation of our transparency product, ensuring its continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainability, integrating them into our strategic framework.
  • Collaborate with various departments to implement sustainability initiatives that foster positive environmental outcomes.
  • Conduct audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with sustainability standards and regulations.
  • Keep abreast of developments concerning bio feedstock, microplastics, and persistent chemicals, devising strategies to address these challenges.
  • Represent the organization at sustainability-related forums, conferences, and working groups.
  • Provide leadership and foster a culture of sustainability and continuous improvement within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; a master's degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in sustainability reporting or a related domain.
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability frameworks, standards, and reporting obligations.
  • Experience in acquiring certifications that meet sustainability criteria.
  • Strong project management and collaborative skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • A commitment to sustainability and effecting positive change.
  • A solid scientific background is preferred.
