Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Cook to join our team at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. As a valuable member of our culinary team, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook high-quality food products in accordance with standardized recipe specifications and presentation standards.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior kitchen staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to food safety and health and safety standards.
  • Ensure proper storage and rotation of food ingredients, and report any equipment problems or maintenance concerns to the Chef.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to prioritize and organize tasks for speed and quality assurance.
  • Contribute to a team-focused environment, maintaining a proactive and positive relationship with front-of-house staff to ensure optimal guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a fine-dining restaurant environment.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Food Handler Certification from Toronto Public Health or equivalent.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a team-focused environment.
