Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented People Services Associate to join our team at Okanagan College. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our employees and management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staffing Administration: Analyze and process staffing actions, including employee data and salary information, in our Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Employee Support: Provide guidance and support to employees and management on HR-related matters, including benefits, leave, and collective agreement interpretations.
  • Recruitment Support: Assist with recruitment processes, including data entry and verification activities, as needed.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Generate confidential reports and provide data insights to support business decisions.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and orientation to new staff on HR policies and procedures, as well as human resource systems and software programs.
Requirements
  • Education: A two-year Diploma in Human Resource Management is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of four years of progressive work experience in a similar or related position is required.
  • Skills: Excellent computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience with HRIS and complex databases.
  • Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and prioritize work activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a unionized environment: An asset.
  • Knowledge of HR software and systems: An asset.
