Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Communications and Customer Service to join our team at the City of Windsor. This is a key leadership role that will be responsible for developing and implementing an enterprise-wide corporate communications strategy, building and maintaining a strong reputation, and providing advice and direction on communications strategies for the corporation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate communications strategy that aligns with the City's goals and objectives
  • Build and maintain a strong reputation for the City through effective communications and stakeholder engagement
  • Provide advice and direction on communications strategies for the corporation, including media relations, crisis communications, and issues management
  • Lead and manage a team of communications professionals to achieve the City's communications goals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including City Council, senior executives, and external partners
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in corporate communications and apply this knowledge to improve the City's communications efforts
Requirements
  • University degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate communications, with a focus on leadership and stakeholder engagement
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective communications strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement
