About the Role
As a Behavioral Support Technician at CBI Home Health Specialized Community Services, your primary responsibilities will include executing intervention strategies, documenting data, and maintaining session records. You will work under the guidance of the Clinical Manager and receive continuous support from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
The individuals you will assist are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), various developmental disabilities, and may also face mental health challenges. Your clientele will mainly consist of children, adolescents, and young adults. Experience with adult clients and managing severe behavioral issues such as aggression or self-injury is considered an asset. Familiarity with collaborating with community organizations in residential or healthcare settings is also beneficial.
Daily Responsibilities
- Travel to clients' residences
- Engage directly with individuals exhibiting complex behavioral needs, including those with Autism, intellectual disabilities, and other mental health conditions
- Willingness to undergo Non-violent Crisis Prevention Training
- Exhibit effective crisis management capabilities
- Maintain regular communication with parents and team members
- Implement behavior support plans, including procedures for behavior reduction and skill acquisition
- Follow directives from BCBA and Lead Behavior Therapists regarding clinical tasks such as data collection and client progress monitoring
- Keep session notes and behavior tracking updated
- Assist in creating assessment and intervention strategies
- Continuously monitor behavior support plans
- Encourage client participation in social, educational, and recreational activities
Qualifications for Success
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT certification) is preferred
- A minimum of 2 years' experience applying principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Must possess a valid Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sectors Screening
- A valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle for client visits
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
What CBI Health Provides
- RBT training and coverage for the exam fee for first-time applicants (if not already certified)
- Supervision by a BCBA for those pursuing BCBA, BCaBA, or RBT certification hours
