Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Fuel Assembly Specialist to join our team in Peterborough, Ontario. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating various machinery and equipment to assemble and manufacture nuclear fuel bundles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production:
    • Operate machinery such as End Closure Weld, Tack and Braze, Punch Press, Beryllium Coat, Cut to Length, Sort and Stack, and Bundle Assembly Weld.
    • Learn to operate new machines, equipment, and computers.
    • Meet high-speed production demands.
  • Quality:
    • Adhere to prescribed procedures and ensure high-quality output.
    • Take preventative action to maintain quality standards.
  • Safety Awareness:
    • Follow Job Safety Hazard Analysis, Ontario Health & Safety Act & Regulations, and Plant Safety Rules/Protocols.
    • Identify and report safety issues and concerns.
    • Take corrective action and monitor the effectiveness of the action.
  • Technical and Professional Knowledge:
    • Understand technical terminology and developments.
    • Apply technical skills and procedures effectively.
    • Perform complex tasks in your area of expertise.
  • Managing Work:
    • Prioritize tasks and manage resources effectively.
    • Stay focused and motivated to meet productivity goals.
  • Applied Learning:
    • Learn to use computers to input and retrieve information.
  • Energy:
    • Meet demanding productivity goals and perform repetitive tasks effectively.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduate
  • Valid class 'G' driver's license
  • Experience with operating machines/equipment in an automated manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated team player
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Experience in the nuclear industry is an asset
  • Community College Diploma in related technical subjects is an asset
