Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead, Mechanical Equipment Engineering to join our team at Nuclear Fuel Services. As a key member of our Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and testing of mechanical equipment and systems for CANDU reactors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and direction to design activities, ensuring compliance with CSA Nuclear Codes and Standards.
  • Develop and maintain task surveillance, ensuring timely completion of projects and milestones.
  • Prepare and rollout team goals, track performance, and deliver mid-year and end of year performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to ensure effective communication and project execution.
  • Provide technical support to CAD, Procurement, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, and Commissioning and Service personnel.

Requirements:

  • B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Holds a current PEO license.
  • Typically requires 15 years' experience in design engineering in Nuclear, Aerospace, Transportation, or other highly regulated and process-based design.
  • Typically requires 8 years' experience in design and development, with proven success in a technical leadership role.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and outstanding analytical abilities.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with 3D CAD software (Inventor/Solidworks) and FEA software (ANSYS).
  • Experience in the CANDU Nuclear Industry.
  • Familiarity with CSA Nuclear Codes and Standards.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $87,000 and $135,000 per year.
