About the Role

Dollarama is seeking a highly skilled Inventory Analyst to support our annual physical inventory process for over 1,500 stores across Canada. As an Inventory Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our inventory records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the physical inventory count schedule for over 1,500 stores across Canada.
  • Prepare key performance reports on inventory metrics and conduct reconciliations for inventory results.
  • Participate in the closing of the financial year-end (journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis of general ledger accounts).
  • Prepare end-of-month journal entries related to provisions and stock adjustments.
  • Conduct analysis and reconciliations of general ledger accounts by month-end deadlines.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly and quarterly stock reports and presentations to provide insights on stock levels, key cost metrics, etc.
  • Ensure that monthly inventory controls are conducted efficiently and on time.
  • Respond promptly and clearly to store supervisors' inquiries regarding physical inventory counts.
  • Analyze, investigate root causes, gather necessary data from multiple sources, and propose solutions for complex inventory adjustments in collaboration with various departments (replenishment, vendor accounts, warehouses, etc.).
  • Execute various types of inventory adjustments such as store transfers, deletions, physical count adjustments, etc.
  • Prepare key reports and analyze losses by store, product category, and product.
  • Participate in various projects/analyses aimed at optimizing inventory processes and controls through automation and identifying opportunities to reduce losses or costs.
  • Retrieve daily reports from the server.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in finance or accounting.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in the retail industry with a technical role in inventory cycles and other financial cycles.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP, IFS, pivot tables, etc.).
  • SAP knowledge is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with other teams.
  • Initiative, enthusiasm, and attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities and demands change frequently.
  • Proficiency in English and French (written and oral).
