About the Role
Dollarama is seeking an experienced Inventory Analyst to support the annual physical inventory process for over 1,500 stores across Canada. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy and completeness of the company's inventory records.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the physical count schedule for over 1,500 stores across Canada.
- Prepare key reports on inventory performance metrics and reconcile inventory results.
- Participate in the annual financial close process (journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis).
- Prepare end-of-month journal entries related to provisions and stock adjustments.
- Analyze and reconcile monthly general ledger accounts within tight deadlines.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly and quarterly stock reports and presentations to provide insights on stock levels, key cost metrics, etc.
- Ensure that monthly inventory controls are effective, efficient, and completed on time.
- Respond promptly and clearly to store supervisors' inquiries regarding physical counts.
- Analyze, investigate root causes, gather necessary data from multiple sources, and propose solutions for complex inventory adjustments in collaboration with various departments (replenishment, vendor accounts, warehouses, etc.).
- Execute various types of inventory adjustments, such as store transfers, cancellations, physical count adjustments, etc.
- Prepare key reports and analyze losses by store, product category, and item.
- Participate in various projects/analyses aimed at optimizing inventory processes and controls through automation and identifying opportunities to reduce losses or costs.
- Retrieve daily reports from the server.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in finance or accounting.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in the retail industry with a technical role in inventory cycles and other financial cycles.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP, IFS, pivot tables, etc.).
- SAP knowledge is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with other teams.
- Initiative, enthusiasm, and attention to detail.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and demands.
- Fluency in English and French (written and spoken).
