About This Opportunity

The Centennial Professional Centre in Kentville is in search of physicians to become part of a collaborative practice managed by Nova Scotia Health. Currently, the team consists of one part-time physician, a family practice nurse, two nurse practitioners, an RN (privately employed by the physician), and a social worker (available one day per week), along with an in-house full-service retail pharmacy and Atlantic Canada's most extensive vein and laser clinic. The electronic medical record (EMR) utilized is Med Access. Minor procedures can be conducted on-site, while more complex procedures are available at nearby healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive primary health care services to patients across all age groups and health conditions.
  • Maintain accountability for your workload and practice.
  • Ensure continuity of patient care in collaboration with healthcare providers within your practice and community.
  • Facilitate care coordination between community-based services and secondary or tertiary healthcare.
  • Build your practice capacity within the initial two years.
  • Adhere to the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
  • Strive for same-day or next-day access for your patient population.
  • Collaborate with team members to address the health needs of the community effectively.
  • Work with other providers to ensure after-hours access and emergency coverage as necessary.
  • Engage in quality improvement and evaluation initiatives.
  • Utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) to document all relevant patient information in a provincially approved system accessible to all collaborating team members.
Expected Hours
  • Full-time or part-time hours are available.
Qualifications
  • All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is required.
