Role Overview
The Accounts Payable Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing the complete accounts payable process. This position involves collaborating closely with Project Accountants and fellow AP Coordinators to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities
Payment Processing
  • Match purchase orders with delivery slips and invoices, ensuring compliance with executed contracts.
  • Review, reconcile, and process invoices for timely payments.
  • Organize and file invoices, and prepare bank deposits, teller payments, checks, and electronic funds transfers on a monthly basis.
  • Address and resolve discrepancies related to purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payments.
Cost Allocation and Ledger Management
  • Allocate costs to appropriate accounts and cost centers through detailed invoice analysis and coding.
  • Maintain the accounting ledger by accurately recording and posting transactions.
Vendor Management
  • Manage vendor accounts through the reconciliation of statements and related transactions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all inquiries related to accounts payable.
Special Projects
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures as required.
  • Provide training to new team members as necessary.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Accounting team.

Qualifications
Essential:
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Accounting.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Coordinator role or a similar position.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP and ASP.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Eligibility to work full-time in Canada.
Preferred:
  • Experience with Sage Paperless.
  • Background in the real estate or construction industry is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
