Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced teacher to join our team as an International & Indigenous Languages Program Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing curriculum for our secondary language programs, which include Italian, Spanish, Mandarin, Russian, American Sign Language, Korean, Arabic, Igbo, Italian, Russian, Spanish, and Yoruba.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and develop curriculum for secondary language programs
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and activities
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement language programs
  • Provide support and guidance to students
Requirements
  • Registered with the Ontario College of Teachers and hold a Certificate of Qualification (or equivalent) in the Intermediate/Senior divisions
  • Teaching experience
  • Knowledge of and fluency in the language (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing)
  • For ASL only - Knowledge of and fluency of American Sign Language, Deaf culture and needs of Deaf in Hearing/Deaf Cultural settings
  • Comfortable teaching online
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with children and/or youth
  • Good computer skills (Google Apps, Microsoft Office) and knowledge of online Learning and/or Meeting tools
  • For ASL only - Previous teaching experience of ASL with Hearing, Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students
Compensation

$49.24 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
