About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Thoracic Surgeon to join our team at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). As a Pediatric Thoracic Surgeon, you will be responsible for providing expert surgical care to children with thoracic conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Treat Thoracic Conditions: Diagnose and treat a range of thoracic conditions in children, including congenital anomalies, tumors, and other diseases.
  • Conduct Research: Conduct research on human disorders, illnesses, and preventive or curative methods related to thoracic conditions in children.
  • Prescribe Treatment: Prescribe post-operation medication and treatment plans for patients.
  • Collaborate with Team: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including pediatricians, anesthesiologists, and radiologists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Stay current with the latest medical research, technologies, and best practices in pediatric thoracic surgery.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in pediatric thoracic surgery.
  • Certifications: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination and licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
