Job Title: Aboriginal Life Skills Coach

The Hamilton Regional Indian Centre is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the urban Aboriginal population of the Greater Hamilton area. We are seeking a skilled Life Skills Coach to join our team.

About the Role

The Life Skills Coach will provide programming in various settings to enhance life skills that foster independence and confidence, increased health and well-being, and a sense of belonging to clients experiencing challenges maintaining their housing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide life skills coaching to clients in various settings
  • Develop and implement life skills programs to enhance independence and confidence
  • Work collaboratively with a team of service providers to support clients
  • Provide crisis intervention training and experience
  • Valid driver's license with clear driving record and access to reliable transportation
Requirements
  • College diploma in Social Services or closely related field
  • Experience working in an Indigenous organization is an asset
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the homelessness serving system
  • Strong understanding and appreciation of Indigenous and non-Indigenous community services and supports
  • Knowledge of Indigenous and non-Indigenous community services and supports
